Ball Watch Micro gas tube luminosity

In darkness, one glance is all you need, but it’s perfectly acceptable to stare. Infused with the ingenious use of micro gas tubes, every BALL model shines instantly and provides unmatched time-reading in low- and zero-light conditions. The completely self-powered luminosity is 100 times brighter than conventional lume and lasts for a minimum of 10 years.

The luminescent technology safely seals pure tritium gas in lightweight mineral glass tubes, whose interior walls are coated with phosphor powder in different colors. After being filled with tritium, the tubes are securely closed by means of a CO2 laser. When the tritium emits electrons, the coating inside the tubes gives off a cold light and shines. And because the amount of tritium is considerably low, its radioactive levels pose no risk to the wearer. Instead, this chemical process ensures automatic luminosity that conquers the darkness.

Conventional luminosity used in watchmaking requires exposure to an external source, such as sunlight, in order to shine. And after approximately 20 minutes, this standard material can begin to fade. Micro gas tubes, on the other hand, provide a constant glow that maintains its brightness from the first second of darkness to the last. No matter when and where, a BALL timepiece delivers continuously bright time reading.

Safe:
No irradiation risk to the wearer of an intact BALL timepiece.

Up to 100 times brighter than luminous paints commonly used in watchmaking.
No battery:
No extra power source necessary, keeping the watch fully mechanical.
10 years:
Superior brightness that powerfully lasts for a minimum of 10 years.
Design:
Infinite palette of light colors and various numbers and shapes.
