BLACK BAY BRONZE ONE, UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT
The Black Bay Bronze One was sold at an auction by Only Watch 2017 for 350,000 Swiss Francs (roughly 480,000 SGD). Although the auction was for a charity event, it was still an incredible price to fetch. The piece sold for more than 75 times its estimate of 4500 Swiss Francs (roughly 6180 SGD).
Some say it doesn’t come as a huge surprise - In 2015, a Black Bay One was also sold an auction by Only Watch for 375,000 Swiss Francs (roughly 550,000 SGD), more than 120 times its estimate price. We still find it astonishing every time we think about it.

The Black Bay Bronze One, similar to the Black Bay Bronze will develop a unique patina over time on the bronze case. The Bronze case paired with a khaki green bezel & matching khaki strap is definitely a stunning combination. The colour aside, the highlight is the crown on the 9 position instead of the 3 (similar to the Tudor Pelageos LHD).
The calibre used in this unique piece is similar to the one used in Black Bay Bronze, the MT5601. The only difference is the adoption of the left hand drive on the calibre.
Calibre Specs
Manufacture caliber MT5601-LHD
Self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system
Swiss Chronometer Officially Certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute)
Power reserve of approximately 70 hours
Variable inertia balance, micro-adjustment screw
Non-magnetic silicon balance spring
Frequency: 28,800 beats/hour (4Hz)
Centre hour, minute and seconds hands
Stop seconds for precise time setting
